This project started as an invitation from Tanzquartier, Vienna, to take part in the project Gravity, a program with sketches and drafts from choreographers to explore the relation of dance and society. So for Gravity we showed a performance sketch called The Croquis. After that, we decided to continue working on it so The Croquis will become a piece.
We are working about things of life that can be represented and performed on stage; that is to say almost everything! But we are working on a kind of little world on stage and how this representation is produced by one performer, what kind of reality produces for the spectator, how he/she gets in and out of the pieces of fiction that represent one moment in the real world. How the performer goes in and out of the representation being conscious that she is part of a piece, which in the fiction, is a piece that is not yet written. So the things the performer represents are things that happened before the piece was written. She performs everything. We are working on the idea of Cristina multiplying herself on stage through the performance. And also on the idea of simultaneity: actions that happen in the same moment in the fiction. As if Cristina wants to perform everything that is happening in one moment in the world.

Besides an economic support to the production of the new work of Cuqui Jerez, the Espacio Cómodo has been granted with a residence of creation (3 weeks of space of rehearsal cession). After the première in Madrid, The croquis reloaded was performed in the frame of the program of Sweet Desembre.
