Orlando Ortega González

Born in 1967 in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, Orlando Ortega began his professional career in 1989 in Madrid as a classical and contemporary dancer. He has worked for various companies from the Canary Islands (el ojo de la faraona), Spain (Provisional Danza, 10&10) and overseas (Utima vez & Wim Vandekeybus, Badischen Staadtheater Karlsruhe). He has worked as a director's assistant, choreographer by commission La historia de un soldado, and created his own pieces Cartas a mi mismo and La perreta.  He has also worked intensively as a teacher in Las Palmas and Madrid over the last few years. He is currently part of an investigation project on the body, movement and the stage, directed by Carmelo Salazar in Barcelona.
