Ion Munduate

Irún, 1969. Trained in dance and visual arts in San Sebastian, Madrid and Paris. In 1994 he met Blanca Calvo with whom he worked in close artistic collaboration until 1997. Together they created: Mármara, M M M M, Marra and Sangre grande. Since 1998 he has been co-directing Mugatxoan with Blanca Calvo, a project focusing on emergent practices and projects situated between performance and visual arts. Their main axes are: workshops, presentations of works and residencies. This project is carried out with the collaboration of Arteleku, San Sebastián and Serralves, Oporto. Since 1997 Munduate works on video and makes his own stage works, such as: GoGo (1997); Lucía con zeta (1999); Flyball (2000) Boj de largo (2000) Astra Tour (2003-2004); BAT, Beautiful Animals Trying (2006); Extras de artificio (2007); and Sin título, en colores (2010).
