DD Dorvillier - human future dance corps

D.D. Dorvillier is an active force in New York's experimental dance and performance scene, where she works as an artist, performer, curator and consultant. Her latest work, No Change or freedom is a psycho-kinetic skill¸ was on the New York Time's Best of 2005 list. She has worked with a great number of New York artists: Peter Jacobs, Jennifer Monson, Jennifer Lacey, Yvonne Meier, Mark Ashwill, Kenta Nagai, Anika Kristensen, Sarah Michelson, Circus Amok, Karen Finley, Salley May and Gale Gates, among others. She is a certified Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) teacher since 1995, and teaches SRT, improvisation and composition workshops all over the world. Since moving to NY in 1989, she has been artist in residence at Movement Research, guest co-director of the journal Release, and co-director of the Movement Research festival in 2004 and 2005. She has received awards for Dressed for Floating (Bessie for best production 2002) and a grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts. She is currently immersed in the process of creating Santajack and has just been awarded a grant from the Foundation for Contemporary Performing Arts 2007 (New York).
